Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

MIts Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

I don't know about the rest of you but Christmas is by far my favourite time of year. You can snuggle up with a big jumper, under a cosy blanket and watch the Christmas tree sparkle or the snow fall or your  favourite Christmas film.  I know I said this blog would mainly be fashion and beauty but i thought i would share with you all some of my favourite Christmas films and albums to get you in the spirit. I've been ill for the past few days so i have spent my time in bed listening or watching these things.

Christmas Films

1) Elf

Elf is a classic Christmas film full of family fun! This is the only Will Ferrel film that I can tolerate (sorry to all the Will Ferrel lovers out there). To me he just captures the spirit of Christmas in a person/elf. Plus it has a blonde Zooey Deschannel in it! What more could you ask for?!

2) The Grinch

Again, a classic! If you didn't watch this at Christmas when you were growing up then you didnt Christmas properly! It is heart warming and tear-jerking at the same time. But I must say, Cindy LooHoo does creep me out a bit.

3) Miracle On 34th Street

This is my favourite Christmas film of all time! As soon as I see this on the TV I know it's Christmas time. Starring the late and great Richard Attenborough (RIP) and a young Matilda (i.e cutest child ever) it just makes you believe in love and Santa and it's set in New York! This is my childhood Christmas film and I beg everyone to watch it. It never gets old.

Christmas Music/Albums

1) Michael Bublè- Christmas

A modern classic. Even though he can get on my nerves, he knows how to produce a Christmas album. It's re-released every year and every year I fall in love with it all over again. Classic songs, classic Bublè.

2) Sleeping At Last- Christmas Collection 2014

This is a new find for me but I absolutely love it! Sleeping At Last is a guy from Scotland who creates gorgeous striped back music. If you are an insane fan like me then you will know that the piano bit at the start of The Fault In Our Stars trailer is from his song Sun, and if you are from England and watch the opening ceremony to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, he sang and produced the cover of 500 Miles. He is just a genius and his music is just gorgeous. This album is full of beautiful covers of classic Christmas songs and hymns. I would highly recommend (especially if you are looking for Christmassy background music for a dinner party or something)

3) Fairytale Of New York- The Pogues and Kirsty McColl

Maybe not one for the younger kids but again a Christmas classic. I have always wanted to sing a duet of this because even though it is rude and offensive, it is still Christmas and it is just magical!

So that is it for my Christmas recommendations. You don't have to check any of them out but they are my personal favourites for this time of year and I would recommend them to anyone. Feel free to leave a comment below telling me what your favourite Christmas film or song is, I would love to know.
